Focus Ireland

Focus Ireland was founded in 1985 by Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy.  The charity works to prevent young people, adults and families from becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness through the provision of quality services, supported housing research and advocacy.  We believe that everyone has a right to a place they can call home that is safe, secure, affordable and appropriate to their needs.

Focus Ireland aims to advance the right of people who are homeless to live in a place they can call home, through quality services, research and advocacy.

Our Vision

Focus Ireland believes that everyone has a right to a place they can call home.

Our Values

Focus Ireland's models of service provision are dictated by the needs of our customers. We believe that the quality of service delivery is as important as the kind of service we provide. There are eight primary values that underpin our models of service delivery, both to our staff and our customers:

  • Respect
  • Safety
  • Accessibility
  • Empowerment
  • Stewardship
  • Quality
  • Partnership
  • Integration

Speaking about Focus Ireland's involvement with Bid2Share.com, CEO Joyce Loughnan said: “We are delighted to be one of the charities involved with Bid2Share.  It’s such a great idea.  Times are hard and money is tight for a lot of people but this site provides a way of auctioning items they no longer need to raise vital funds for charities including Focus Ireland.  The money raised will help to directly fund our work to combat and prevent homelessness.”

Ms. Loughnan added: “The site is also a bit of fun as well as people may have anything from an old Elvis costume only worn once at Halloween a few years ago to a Christmas present that was never used or maybe some DVDs or CDs.  These type of things can be sold on the site to help support our work to prevent families and single from becoming homeless and to help others to move on from being homeless.”

"I would encourage people to have a think about anything they may have that isn’t needed any more that could be sold on Bid2Share to raise much needed funds for charity.
